
Genesis of GSP
Journey of Grameen Shramik Pratishthan (GSP)
1st Phase: 1978-1982 - Incubation Period
Pre-Registration Work: During this phase, the foundation was laid with the guidance and support of eminent socialist Dr. Dada Saheb Gujar and Hon. Shri Yedunathji Thatte.
Thought Process: Initiated with work in the slums of Hadapsar, Pune, focusing on the needs of marginalized communities.
2nd Phase: 1981-1986 - Confrontational Tasks
Before Budhoda: GSP operated in Nilanga City.
Pressure Group: Acted as a pressure group for landless farmers, focusing on land distribution, tenure, and organization under the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Act of 1948.
Group Farming Experiment: Launched an innovative group farming experiment.
Challenges: Faced attacks from landlords and organized protection against these threats.
Projects: Initiated Action Aid Project and adult education classes, emphasizing literacy rights.
3rd Phase: 1987-1992 - Stability and Expansion
Arrival at Budhoda (1986): Marked the beginning of stability for GSP.
Initiatives: Started Swadhar Kendra and a handloom center.
Government Support: Received land from the government.
Community Work: Focused on the surrounding villages, women, youth, and farmers.
Adarsh Gaon Yojana: Implemented in Anna Hazare’s village before being replicated elsewhere.
Self Help Groups (1989): Established Self Help Groups, pioneering the concept in the region.
4th Phase: 1993-1997 - Earthquake Relief and Rehabilitation

Killari, Latur Earthquake: Played a crucial role in relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Support: Provided food and accommodation for representatives, officers, and all those involved in relief work.
Relief Work: Responsible for the distribution of relief materials to earthquake victims and provided physiotherapy for disabled people.
5th Phase: 1998-2002 - Challenging Times
Difficult Period: Faced a low phase with the completion of all projects.
Challenges: Encountered financial crises and health issues.

6th Phase: 2003-2008 - Revival
Manav Vedana Mukti Kendra: Established to revive the NGO and its activities.
7th Phase: 2009-2014 - Corporate Partnerships
Collaborations: Formed numerous partnerships with corporates.
Training Programs: Introduced courses in acupressure and massage therapy.
8th Phase: 2015-2020 - Expansion and Scholarships
Knowledge Partner: Collaborated with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS).
Corporate Partnerships: Expanded partnerships with various corporates.
New Centers: Established centers in Nandurbar and Mumbai.
Scholarship Program: Launched a scholarship program to support education.
9th Phase: 2021 to Now - New Initiatives
Alibaug Center: Opened a new center in Alibaug.
Recognition: Honored as Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year.
Training Programs: Introduced garment-making training, Divyang Creation, and digital media and content development training courses.
